CLEANING AND DISINFECTING GUIDELINES FOR TWO-WAY RADIOS AND ACCESSORIES

healthcare

Recommended cleaning and disinfecting guidelines for two-way radios and accessories to assist with general hygiene guidelines set forth by the World Health Organization (WHO) www.who.int and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) www.cdc.gov. Per global health authorities, removing germs, dirt and impurities from surfaces lowers the risk of spreading infection. Using chemical disinfectants may kill germs that remain on surfaces after cleaning, which further lowers the risk of spreading infection.

General Cleaning and Disinfecting:

  • Apply 0.5% detergent-water solution with a cloth, then use a stiff, non-metallic, short-bristled brush (a toothbrush works well) to work all loose dirt away from the device. Use a soft, absorbent, lint less cloth or tissue to remove the solution and dry the device.
  • While drying the device, make sure that no solution remains entrapped near any connectors, cracks or crevices.
  • Devices may be DISINFECTED by wiping them down with over-the-counter isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) or Ethanol, with at least 70-80% alcohol concentration.
  • When cleaning with isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol, (should never be applied directly to the device.) It should be applied to a cloth, which is then used to wipe down the device.
  • The effects of certain chemicals and their vapors can have a negative effect on plastics and the metal platings.

Do not use bleach, solvents or cleaning sprays to cleanse or disinfect your device.

Eagle Communications ensures that all equipment processed by our rental and repair departments is cleaned and disinfected for your safety. Stringent procedures are in place by all personnel regarding the safe handling and shipment of all orders.

Vertex Standard Radios Have Been Re-branded As Motorola

Big changes have come to the Vertex Standard line of professional two-way radios. It's common knowledge that Vertex Standard is owned by Motorola, but has always been operated as a stand-alone brand. Early in 2018, that all changed. Motorola created a new line of radios, informally known as their "Commercial Tier" products, which now includes a combination of several existing Motorola radios as well as several legacy Vertex Standard models that have been re-branded as Motorola.
